most african immigrants in NY i think are from Nigeria so that is why they looked like african americans, Nigerians look a lot like them
also dont forget that most "african americans" in NY are actually Caribbeans from jamaica, barbados, trinidad, and those islands

my father lives in Georgia and there are towns out there where the aframs are so dark, dark as africans, i was surprise when i first saw them cause i have never been use to those type of blacks before, the black guy who works for my father washing his cars is also very dark like if he were in the dark, you wouldnt be able to see him
