How specific can haplogroups get in determining your origins? For example, my haplogroup is I2-L69.2 and my male lineage is Greek. My haplogroup could be Polish, Ukrainian, Romanian, etc. So I can't really tell if my haplogroup came to Greece within the last 200 years, 500 years, 2000 years, or 10,000 years. Can haplogroups get any more specific than this?

Full Y-Chromosome sequencing can answer that if enough people from various countries take it. It's expensive but still affordable for a person of average wealth.

They tell you what paternal lineage you belong to that's it, then people develop opinions about haplogroup origins.

If you take a a high number(i am taking 67 marker) STR marker test at FTDNA there is a chance you will find people who share the same paternal ancestor in recorded times.
