I think they fit well in Scotland but could also easily pass in Scandinavia

Yes, why not?

How would you classify them?

No way. Too British. Nice movie by the way. I like Mcdonald's performance.

They could pass but they don't really look typical.

He would pass just fine. If Ewan MacGreger were in Sweden people would approach him and speak Swedish then only afterwards would they question if he were British I'd say.

Guess so

He looks very British but they all wouldn't stand out I'd say. I'd like to hear from Scandinavian members though. When I've been in Sweden Denmark and Germany people would always address me in their native languages and it was only afterwards they were surprised I wasn't from there.

Well to me Johnny Lee Miller has a closer look to what I would consider Scandinavian looking, even that he has darker hair. But I'm no expert, especially for that area.

I then edited it seen that he's English.

I agree that McGregor and McKidd (McKidd especially) are pretty celtic looking but I still think theyd pass easily in Scandanavia because most people cant pick up in small differences between similar European populations unless it's really obvious.

If you can pass in Sweden then they can, and Germany isn't Scandinavian.

I'm aware that Germany isn't Scandinavia. I'm only saying that empirically I have been to those countries and wasn't taken for British immediately and that there is an overlap between western euros.

McKidd is such a Highlander in stereotype. Mcgregor comes from Crieff, basically an extension of the Highlands in North Perthshire.

There's a bit of Norse looks in the North.

More votes needed and is there any Scandinavians who can comment? I know theres a few regulars on the forum.

When I was in Sweden/Norway I often had people talk to me without question in their own language. So if I could pass as a Swede/Norwegian then these guys definitely could :thumb001:

Being addressed in the local language in a country doesn't mean much in my opinion. I was addressed in dutch in the Netherlands and in italian in Italy by the locals.

On topic, i would say Mcgregor more than Mckidd.. but i'm no expert on scandinavian looks.

Considering that 1000 years ago, the Shetlands, Orkneys, the North and West coasta of Scotland and the Western Isles down to the Isle of Man were under Norwegian rule, a lot of DNA has been swapped. Add in the Normans and you have another source of Scandinavian genes. I feel as much at home in Scotland as I do in Norway, Sweden and parts of Denmark.
