We had two Easter dinners. Last night (Easter Saturday, if that's what it is called), I had a turkey dinner which consisted of turkey, vegetables, a glass of wine, and pie for desert. Today (Easter Sunday, the "actual Easter") I had ham, some kind of bean hotdish, a few pieces of raw broccoli, cabbage salad (not mayo laden coleslaw, but a dry cabbage salad with some crunchy noodles and nuts), Heineken beer, and my uncles homemade wine.

Like every year, and probably everybody in France, a gigot d'agneau (lamb leg slowly cooked with white beans, herbs, sea salt, and garlic). It's the archetypal Easter food.

It looks like this :

We also had asparagus and a zucchini gratin.

Some shit chocolate Easter eggs, I still don't know what Jesus has to do with rabbits laying eggs, but I'm not a theologian or anything.

Since I'm by myself out here there wasn't much Easter festivity.

I had some beef pho (Vietnamese) which was really good.

I met with three friends to eat at Angelo's restaurant, a Greek eatery in town. We all had roast leg of lamb with vegetables and baked potato. I also had their Italian wedding soup and stuffed mushrooms. Three of us had, as a pre-prandial aperitif, a glass of Campari straight-up with a twist. (Antonio doesn't drink.)

With the dinner, we three wine-bibbers shared a bottle of Petit Syrah. For dessert, we were served the proprietress' home-made tiramisu which can only be described as ambrosial.
