It's funny because it's true... i always wondered why the Scots obtained their bagpipe music from and the fustanella looking kilts too.

There are roughly two types of bagpipes in Scotland, two in Ireland and one in England. That's less than in Greece, Spain, Italy or the Balkans in general. France has around twenty types, more or less.
There are bagpipes from Ireland to Pakistan.

Scythian thing probably originally.
Double reed instruments have been here since Antiquity.
And names like Gaita/Gaida and Tsampouna/Tsabouna/Zampogna/Samponha are used all around the Mediterranean for various types of bagpipes, probably reminiscent of Roman or Post-Roman times.

Sweden has it's own bagpipe as well. It's a nice instrument.

Its not a coincidence that there are bagpipes in the regions of Greece which were formerly Bulgarian.
