I just want to crunch into an olive and taste it's subtle richness and its greeny golden oils flowing through its flesh like human blood, I need an olive right now....

I never saw the appeal of them. I will eat them sometimes on a pizza but I don't like them alone.

England being such an authority on all things food :p

I don't eat that much olives, just a buttload of olive oil and tapenade (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapenade) (truly one of the greatest inventions of mankind).

Our food is great. Just because many others don't like it, it doesn't mean we (and i) don't.

I like how you managed to turn my personal distaste for a particular fruit into a jibe against England, sneaky frog.

I don't like olives. Can't stand their taste. We use some olive oil for self-made pizza but that's it.

(We don't have olives in our Central European flora anyway. It's a typical mediterranean vegetable that grows there.)

I have two jars of green olives in my refrigerator right now: one Italian, the other Spanish. I especially like one or two green olives in a Bloody Mary, my favorite cocktail. I like both green and black olives in salads and black ones in or on pizzas. I sometimes offset the
blandness of white rice by mixing chopped black olives into it, what I call "black-and-white rice".

I use olive oil in cooking in preference to any other oil or fat. Second would be dark sesame oil and third butter. I NEVER use margarine for any purpose. ( I suppose it would be alright to use for patch grease for my muzzle-loading rifles.)

I like olive oil more than olives, mostly because the ones I usually get here are over salted or not very fresh. I like them in my martinis though.

A year ago I slipped at a supermarkets oliver bar. It was leaking all day and they gave up on cleaning it.

Yes, my god mother had property on the coast in Montenegro. We used to eat olives right off the tree as kids, doesn't taste very good.

Must be a different variety, I keep forgetting what they are called in English. Generally olives have to be cured before they are eaten.

Yeah, if they are not cured they tasted pretty bad but kids don't care, we eat everything xD
