great choice
But personally i think they are little bit heavy
But they do a lot of damage and are good but you lose speed with it my personal opinion
In other hand Japanese Swords i think are in Higher level when you are fighting with multiple enemies at the same time

Here's a chinese sword from about 500BC

http://img.4plebs.org/boards/tg/image/1367/36/1367367960829.jpg

It's pretty impressive. It was perfectly preserved because the sheath had an airtight seal.

Bastard sword or scimitar/saber (curved blade), it all depends on the situation. The bastard sword is probably a better all-around sword though.

Haha. That company is ok but their blades/weapons are pretty cheap stuff. For the price they're pretty decent but definitely nowhere near the best. Cold Steel. I have owned some of their stuff.

The sharpest blades are made from carbon steel. They can be sharpened better than hard stainless steel but they rust if you don't oil them.

It depends. Cutting paper isn't a very good test. A blade can be sharpened to an extreme edge but once it hits something harder than paper the edge could end up cracking or folding over itself because it's so thin.

Yes. It's reputed to be Joyeuse, the sword of Charlemagne. But the blade and pommel are most likely from the Xth century (although a IXth century origin isn't excluded).

I like it. I don't know if technically it is sharper than stainless steel but in my experience it just feels nicer and sharpens nicer.

That's something I've always been interested in. It would be nice to make custom knives with things like mammoth ivory.

The reason I say "whatever you want to call it" is because sword classification is a recent thing.
