Anyone here like Rugby? I've only watched a rugby game once, but when I saw it I thought it was fantastic. It is like American football, but there are no downs and the play is virtually continuous.

Does anyone know where I could watch particular rugby league football games online for free?

Also, unlike American football, rugby players don't wear massive suits of armour like big girls.

A quick Google got this link http://www.creekrugby.com/ but I find they wish you to commit to ultimately paying software and the sort.

Your best bet would be to get a very good proxy which allows you to watch these highlights

BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes)
ITV (http://www.itv.com/ITVPlayer/AtoZ/default.html)
Channel 4 (http://www.channel4.com/programmes/4od/?+Team)

Rugby Union is the more popular type of rugby played. Rugby League definitely plays second fiddle.

Arawn is correct with regards to popularity. I watch union, its more technical with a lot more use of the brain, with different attributes needed. League is more fluid.

I became a "fan" of it (just saw a couple of games to be honest:P) in Cardiff, and oh I support Wales :D

I enjoy Rugby much more than American NFL football. It's much more interesting to watch, as a spectators' sport.

What a stupid comment. I'd like to see you get tackled by a 350 pound linesman with momentum without pads. Then we'd see who is like a big girl.

Rugby rocks, it is much more interesting that American football, which I find is excruciatingly boring. I don't understand Finnish people who watch the superbowl. The game stops every 3-10 seconds, and then it takes a couple of minutes for everyone to get ready for the next 3-10 seconds of play. It sucks.

I think Wales is the only place in the world where rugby is compulsory in schools as part of the sports curriculum (it was when I was in school).

I think you'll find that according to Wolfie, if a sport is popular in America, it's by definition meant for sissies and girlie boys.

Ameican football is a sport where an individual player's performance matters less than in, say, ice hockey or football. It's actually quite fascinating once you get into it. And yes, I watch the Super Bowl and attend Vaahteraliiga (http://www.sajl.fi/sarjat/miehet/vaahteraliiga/) games on occasion. ;)

It's a national sport here (obviously , since Italy is in the "six nation").

Altough the practice it's almost absent in 70% of the conutry, and centered only in some regions.

I support the USAP, of course. The rugby club of Perpignan, North Catalonia. Champions of France 2009.

How about Euro football fans who get excited and gladly pay big money to watch a 0-0 tie and believe they got their money's worth? The fans should all get a refund for a rouse like that. Sometimes I think a player should score an OG just to keep things interesting.

Perpignan just acquired the Ospreys (my local club) player James Hook (http://welshrugbyblog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/james-hook-outside-half.jpg).:)

We never played it at my School. Dad and Uncle did for there school. Everytime the team lost, his team would belt the other team bus with rocks. That's probably why working class Scots don't get the chance so much :D

Rugbys the number one sport in Wales, ahead of football! yous come in huge numbers to Murrayfield.

Don't know if anyone is watching the Six Nations, but Italy just beat France , massive win for Italy, really good for the fans.

They pushed Ireland very close too and could have beat us but for O'Garas last minute drop goal.

Very good for Italian rugby :thumbs up

and it is way more interesting and dynamic than American Football ( don't know why they call it football ) where the game is stopped every 15 seconds and you have to wait for the players to build a wall of man to stop the other team, then again 10 Seconds game and again stop the game.

Can't believe that Italy beat France, 22-21 today

So far it's Wales 16-13 Ireland. They'll probably kill us in the 2nd half.

Wales won, but the try by Mike Philips should not have been allowed

Rule 19.2 states

For a quick throw in, the player must use the ball that went into
touch. If, after it went to touch and was made dead, another ball
is used, or if another person has touched the ball apart from the
player throwing it in, then the quick throw in is disallowed. The
same team throws in at the lineout.

Unfortunately, I missed the game. I had to attend a lecture at my university.

Except for baseball and hockey, American professional sports have become games for freaks, "football" for armored bulls and basketball for beanpoles.

Because many players wear no protective equipment at all, both "soccer"
[REAL football] and rugby are riskier and rougher games than American "football" [which it has recently been suggested should be called "handegg"] .

As a bumper sticker which was popular a number of years ago said, "It takes leather balls to play rugby." I have the, perhaps mistaken, impression that many more soccer players have died on the field than have American football players. I don't know what the mortality statistics are like for rugby.

Still, it must be said of soccer and rugby that both games can still be played by normal (except for a greater penchant for risk-taking) human beings.

The last match is playing now, France v's Wales - so far it's 3-3

Wales need to win by more than 27 points to win the championship, otherwise, England have won it.

Excellent stuff, England!

I don't take an interest in rugby, but that's not important. What's important is that we're going to win.
