Let's see what you make out of the Kaiser.

I have no idea what he is. But maybe some younger images would help.

He's an Eastern Alpinid, very similar to Coon's Magyar example from Pecas, Hungary:

A lot of the Southern German Royalties were notorious for having bad looks.
If you do a brief check on the genealogies of the German Royal Families, the Hapsburg tend to have a lot of Mediterranean (Italian and Spanish) and Balkan blood, in contrast to the Hohenzollern (Prussians) who intermarried with Royalty from the Benelux countries, the German States, England and Russia.

He's an Eastern Alpinid, very similar to Coon's Magyar example from Pecas, Hungary:

I don't think anyone else used the term ''EAstern Alpinid'' other than Coon. And if someone else did, I was the under the impression that the term has been obsolete and replaced with a variety of types... Such as the Uralid, Neo-Danubian and Gorid (the latter of which I think Franz I is)

Than again I find it odd to classify Franz as having some phenotype that's supposedly most common in Russia. It's not in his ancestry.

Franz's paternal Grandfather was half Spanish and his paternal Grandmother was half Sicilian.
He seems to look a lot like his Great Grandfather Leopold.

This is Franz's brother. Maximilian I of Mexico, who had been suspected as being the result of an affair between Princess Sophie and Napoleon I of France. And I think the rumor was intensified because Maximilian didn't look like his inferior-looking (not to be so brash...) brother

In some of the younger one's he looks closer to Nordic. In the others he seems Borreby.

I think he just took a lot from his Sicilian Great Grandfather. Not to the extent of looking Sicilian but the influence nevertheless being present.
But classifying Karl Joseph would be like classifying your average Italian-American of mixed ancestry on the East Coast. It's not going to be easy. Karl Joseph in his younger photo reminds me of an Italian American who was a staunch nationalist (not the ''White'' kind, if that's what your thinking)
