My favorite is Scrooge.

I also like Les Miserables, Notre Dame (which I saw when dennis de young did it and it was amazing), miss saigon and a few others I can't remember now.

Not at all, for normal musicals. Though it really depends, as some are probably intentionally homoerotic. If the males are wearing tights, then you're in the wrong theatre.

Very gay. Like in the West Hollywood scale.

If you know Gilbert & Sullivan's repertoire by heart, you might be.

Liking musicals is more gay than a bag full of dicks.

Isn't it an American thing to associate musicals with "gays"? I've never heard of this here.

That depends, usually very gay, except for musicals like The Wall, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Misérables.

Some musical films are undoubtedly great. I'm partial to The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, starring Catherine Deneuve:

And Love Me Tonight, starring Maurice Chevalier:

What interesting in on old film like 'Les Parapluies de Cherbourg': only lovers and close family tutoy each other. Even people who are just dating vousvoyed in French films of that era. Today Frenchies all speak to each other with 'tu', often even to complete strangers. Nowadays they only use 'vous' when they are talking to someone above them in hierarchy or when talking to the elderly.

Shortly before he died, I recall Eric Rohmer said he started focusing on medieval period pieces because he couldn't tolerate the level of spoken French in the contemporary world.
