This is quite an interesting study that was done back in 2010 about Y-chromosomes and mtDNA from the Comoros Islands which lay off the coast of East Africa. Both SSA and Eurasian lineages are present especially when it comes to Y-DNA. SSA Y-DNA lineages make up the majority of Y-chromosomes but when it comes to the Eurasian Y-DNA haplogroups the Y-DNA haplogroup J2a M410 is the most frequent followed by J1. These two Y-DNA haplogroups may be related to the Shirazi Persian merchants and traders that arrived in the Comoros in the early Middle Ages.
