Chmielno is a small town located between picturesque lakes and hills. For years, the area has been attracting tourists seeking relaxation amidst the beautiful landscapes, the five lakes, forests, and those who are interested in pottery traditions of the town. Folk art of making objects out of clay is one of the oldest, as evidenced by numerous excavations and research. The Kashubian pottery tradition reaches back to medieval ages, and in the 19th century three major centres of pottery making were well developed.
