Are Kashmiris South Asians racially?

They don't want to be part of India or Pakistan and physically nearly 1/3 to 1/2 of them look distinct enough, the rest can pass for North Indian, Pakistani. I think they range from North Indid to Caucasus looking. Personally I think nearly half of them will fit in the Caucasus.

Their hair and eye color ranges from light brown with some times green / blue eyes.

They're quite light for South Asians in my experience, but they are still most definitely a South Asian population.

Actually you're right. I've studied many South Asian ethnic group and even Afghans have many people who look just like South Asian ( North Indian/Pakistani). I was thinking maybe Kashmiris look closes to Afghans because there are so many Afghans who look like they pass from Caucasus, although many South Asians don't consider Afghans as part of the South Asian race.
Afghans have a caucasoid subtype called Iranoid-Afghan. I think Afghans are maybe a mixture of Iranians and South Asian(Pakistani).


Kashmiris confuses me to be honest. Although such looks can be found in tens of millions of north Indians, I'll say 10-20% for North Indian/Pakistani (but still with more south Indian admixture) but for Kashmiris I think it's over 60% and with less south Indian admixture.

There is no cherry picking


Perhaps it was a bit of exaggeration but they are definitely the most non-South Asian looking in every province or regions of India. There are other Kashmirs ethnic groups but they aren't true dardic speaking Kashmir.

Like I said, not true dardic speaking Kashmiris but I still think they look more like Afghans even in the picture you posted, more like Pasthuns, they definitely have a more prominent and longer noses than south Asian people. I guess I should have said if Dardic people are South Asians, although they call themselves Kashmiris and many Kashmiris have migrants and kingdoms that originated from North Indian/Pakistani.
