I know what you mean, but throughout the country there is a strong predominance of Alpine and Dinaro-Med types, so that assertion is an exaggeration.

Northerners look closer to Iberians or Southern French, and unlike Southerners they never overlap with Middle Easterners.

Yes. But southern Italians rarely do. But Somalis and Kenyans are last even still despite being neighboring countries since the latter look like West Africans and Caribbeans.

While I generally wish to act as a neutral umpire in this debate, it is clear to me that Somalis and Kenyans are the most different by far, given the fact that the latter are far more Bantu and far less Arabid-influenced than the former. As for the other two pairs, I'd say they are on par: many Northern Italians can pass in Austria, but relatively few Southern Italians can; likewise, many Northern Iraqis can pass in Syria, but far fewer Southern Iraqis can.

Somalis aren't Arabid influenced to any significant degree by the way. They mostly preserve old Cushitic looks, but they do have some Negroid (Bantu) admixture.
