Well, this is not surprising. A century before Columbus, China assembled the largest navy with the most massive ships that humankind had ever seen, which voyaged to Africa on an imperial mandate. But unfortunately the close mindedness of the ruling class destroyed that navy and shut China's doors, a major geopolitical mistake that would eventually prove to be very costly.

Anyways, I'll probably put up a great documentary of Zheng He some time here.
