South Chinese are mixture of East Asian and Southeast Asian but closer to Southeast Asian with heavy East Asian admixture in various degrees from 20 - 50%. Cantonese are mixture of Chinese and Vietnamese and physically they look more Vietnamese although Vietnamese are also a mixture of East Asian and Southeast Asian 9 - 25% East Asian blood but much less East Asian than Cantonese , real pure Southeast Asian are Laos and Taiwanese aborigines.


Genetically Cantonese = 22% - 35% East Asian + 65% - 78% Southeast Asian

Average Cantonese are 27% - 29% East Asian


Cantonese and South Chinese = Closer to Southeast Asian with Substantial to heavy East Asian admixture

Except for Vietnamese, Laos, Taiwanese aborigines. All other Southeast Asian have South Asian in various degrees. Southeast Asian have 3.5% - 17% South Asian mtDNA + 5% - 15% South Asian Y-DNA. Cambodians, Burmese, Indonesian, Malays, Thais are genetically 13-20% South Asian.

NO SHE DOESN'T

Typical Vietnamese are predominately Southeast Asian with East Asian admixture ( you could be right on this one )

Typical Thais are predominately Southeast Asian with South Asian admixture with even Negrito influence.

Some Thais look east Asian because they have partial east asian ancestry from the Teochew migrants. Read history in wiki and you will see many Thais have 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 Chinese ancestry.

But from my experience 90% of Thais I've seen look like these. I remember it well when I was in Thailand, the light skinned are usually the ones in media or those occasional ones.
