This is going to be hell of an epic pic-spam so the first pages are reserved.

First of all let me point out. That if we gather people from all across the Philippines (Not just locals of a single ethnic group) we look pretty diverse

The Pangasinense are already diverse because a lot of them are mix Ilocanos and other ethnic group like the Negritos etc. so a lot of them
they have more than 1 ethnic native background.

small population. Dark of the skin. Doesnt speak the main languages: Tagalog, Ilocano, Bicolano, or Bisayan

as you can see, we pangasinense has lighter and dark skin and of course we have dark skinned because we are surrounded of seas & exposed from the sun. pangasinense also spoke tagalog but of course we don't speak bicolano although I had relatives there from my father side that married a Bicolana. anywhere you go they do speak tagalog, why did you think that other pangasinense doesn't speak tagalog there? They do although they do have accent and it's because they are not a tagalog speaker but they can speak and understand the language.

Actually there is another language spoken in Pangasinan by a Pangasinense. The 'Bolinao Language' from Bolinao, Pangasinan which is closely related to Sambalic Language of Zambales because they used to be part of Zambales and it was hand over during mid 18th century. It's different from the majority spoken language of the Pangasinense and we don't understand the Bolinao Language of Pangasinense in Bolinao, Pangasinan but they speak tagalog and ilocano there.

Filipinas beat every race/ethnic group in the world in breeding LOL

They were just 1.5 million in 1800, and will reach 150 million in a few decades with 100 million in 2014 => 70/100 times multiplied in 200/230 years

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_the_Philippines#Population_history

Thank God, major countries like India and China got multiplied by only ~7 times comparing to 1800 population.

It will never reach 150 million. It will probably peak at 140 million and then start declining. Why do I say this? Because there's a new law in the Philippines that gives free condoms and birth control to anybody and everybody, and Filipinos are taking full advantage of it

Filipinos are fuckin' poor like many Asians (south, east, s.east).. you should wish for reduction.

I'm pretty sure there will be perennial food shortage in Philippines cuz of shortage of arable land and the increase in population as well as food intake of an average Filipino citizen. Sadly, you wish for quadrupling lol

Well I don't think everything should blame it to someone else or religious group. Because everything we do is also because of what we do,
We also have brains to think about it. some are not just thinking of the possibilities before they do something, If they have jobs and proper education regarding birth control because to become a parent is a responsibility and obligation.

I am Catholic, I am Pro-Life, Proper Education is what everyone needs, Jobs and
all their welfare support. Corruption is one of the problem they have to correct and change first. All the politician in the government had millions of salaries but people who are poor became poorer and they are blaming because of over population.

Actually India is more densely populated than the Philippines, so dont point at the Philippines without looking at yourselves. And the good thing about the Philippines is food grows all around without any effort. But Filipinos are lazy so they leave the countryside where there's food growing all over the place and they get move to the crowded city and slave themselves for some fast food.

Actually India is more densely populated than the Philippines, so dont point at the Philippines without looking at yourselves. And the good thing about the Philippines is food grows all around without any effort. But Filipinos are lazy so they leave the countryside where there's food growing all over the place and they get move to the crowded city and slave themselves for some fast food.

common Land density mean nothing.. what matters is arable land (to produce main crops to feed citizens).

India and Italy got equal population density in terms of arable land, China got more..and Philippines got twice as much as India do

well it looks like South Korea, Japan, Israel, and several other wealthy countries have a high population density per arable land, so that wont determine a country's wealth. Philippines is still wealthier per capita than India

Be realistic bro

Wealthier countries like Japan, S.Korea and Israel can import food as much as they want.
Philippines might've a bit more per capita wealth than India, but still a poor country...I'm not comparing wealth of Philippines/India/China at all, I'm concerned about basic food in poor countries which can't afford to import food unlike wealthy nations..

lol well technically the mestiza/o that is being used today is different from the mestiza/o that was originally used in the Philippines. Now, anything lighter skin they call it mestiza/mestizo (tisay / tisoy) and it's not only a european admixture because they used also to others like chinese, the mestiza/o de sangley or any other mixed foreign nationals that mixed the native. Actually, the mestizo/a is only those directly half and it doesn't cover the next generation & mostly they call them Tornatras those who are not half or combination of those 3, or unless the mestiza/o will marry full white or Chinese again so he/she can pass to the next generation but I think they only follow the Paternal status and the child will get the status of the father.

Because of this caste system even up today, our aetas still being outcaste and discriminated because they are the one that was being at the bottom.

Chinita/o doesn't exist before same as what is being used of Mestiza/o today lol.. both are being misused today and then the 'negrito' they call it 'baluga'/'nognog', i think some of our countrymen are racist too to it's own fellow countrymen. I think government should educate more our people and maybe we should stop using 'negrito' or 'mestizo' because we are no longer used 'indio' because that was not proper according from history and why we still retain using these 2 terms and we can used 'Filipino' or calling them based from their native ethnic names/group. Pilita Corrales is very much proud Cebuana.

There is something wrong with the media and advertisement or even our society that they should educate the Filipinos regarding this matter, i even encountered 1 that she was so obsessed on her skin because of being light and that she is 'mestiza' because she got lighter skin.not because she's half Filipino. Well technically, a lot of us are already mix why they have to mentioned percentage of our being Filipino lol first and foremost it's not a racial definition. It is nationality and that we are all 100% Filipino specially if we are all born in the Philippines and or both of your parents are Filipino Nationals.

Filipinos are fuckin' poor like many Asians (south, east, s.east).. you should wish for reduction.

I'm pretty sure there will be perennial food shortage in Philippines cuz of shortage of arable land and the increase in population as well as food intake of an average Filipino citizen. Sadly, you wish for quadrupling lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXVSaVhRRV0

Languages Spoken in Olongapo
The city's population speaks a wide variety of the country's main languages, Specifically: Tagalog, Kapampangan, Ilocano, Sambal, Cebuano, and the modernized language called Taglish (Tagalog and English). Many more dialects were also spoken from other denominations of people.

So Olongapo is already diverse mixed of different ethnic group in the Philippines. the Sambal and Kampampangan is the local and native spoken in Central Luzon area where Olongapo is located but because Zambales is also in that area and that some Ilocanos migrated in Zambales too.. the oldest inhabitant of the area is of course the Aetas.

She's just Tagalog, as far as I know. But she may indeed be part African American since the Spanish used to send even Mullatoe soldiers here from Latin America during the past...

The government in Manila complains that Mexico sends Mestizo, Mullato and Native American soldiers instead of pure Spaniards to the Philippines during the beginning of Spanish colonization.

Letter from Fajardo to Felipe III From Manila, August 15 1620.(From the Spanish Archives of the Indies)

"The infantry does not amount to two hundred men, in three companies. If these men were that number, and Spaniards, it would not be so bad; but, although I have not seen them, because they have not yet arrived here, I am told that they are, as at other times, for the most part boys, mestizos, and mulattoes, with some Indians (Native Americans). There is no little cause for regret in the great sums that reënforcements of such men waste for, and cost, your Majesty. I cannot see what betterment there will be until your Majesty shall provide it, since I do not think, that more can be done in Nueva Spaña, although the viceroy must be endeavoring to do so, as he is ordered."

Thanks for that post! Most modern Filipinos don't appreciate Spain yet worship America so much. However, back when Spain ruled the Philippines, the Spanish were actually less racist to the Filipinos than the Americans.

Even British officials took note of this.

Among them was Sir John Bowring, Governor General of British Hong Kong and a well-seasoned traveler who had written several books about the different cultures in Asia, who described the situation as "admirable" during a visit to the Philippines in the 1870s.

The lines separating entire classes and races, appeared to me less marked than in the Oriental colonies. I have seen on the same table, Spaniards, Mestizos and Indios, priests and military. There is no doubt that having one Religion forms great bonding. And more so to the eyes of one that has been observing the repulsion and differences due to race in many parts of Asia. And from one (like myself) who knows that race is the great divider of society, the admirable contrast and exception to racial discrimination so markedly presented by the people of the Philippines is indeed admirable.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurasian_(mixed_ancestry)

In fact the Spaniards were open minded enough to even let a Filipino become a Prime Minister of Spain.

Marcelo de Azcárraga Ugarte y Palmero-Versosa de Lizárraga, hidalgo del condado de Lizárraga (1832–1915) was the thirteenth Prime Minister of Spain following the restoration of the Spanish monarchy. Azcárraga was also the only Spanish Prime Minister of Filipino descent.

Even America hasn't let a Filipino become a mere senator in the states in modern times or let a Filipino run for congress back when the Philippines was a colony of America. Yet, here we have glorious Spain, letting a mere colonial Filipino become a Prime Minister!

Spain did more for Filipinas than most give credit to.

Spain did more for Filipinas than most give credit to.

I am aware of that, Selurong.

But If I dared to state all you've said, I would be denonced as a spanish nationalist on here and anywhere.

What Anglos did in Philippinnes, in my opinion, has no words.

She looks really different from Filipinos I've seen. I think she's either mixed with SSA, or has some type of Papuan admixture.

It could be possible. Both Africans and Papuans made it to the Philippines during Spanish times.

In the case of Papuans, they really did.

Ternate in Indonesia is an island with a Papuan speaking population. It became a sultanate when Arabs and Malays from Malaysia spread Islam there and their king (Cachil) became a Sultan.

However, the Spanish also once invaded Ternate after the Portuguese. When the Spanish were forced to retreat to the Philppines due to the Dutch and Chinese Pirate Warlord Koxinga, the Sultan and his people converted to Christianity and accompanied the Spanish to the Philippines and they then settled the area of Ternate, Cavite, named after their homeland.

From Cavite, the Papuans spread to neighboring areas. So, maybe that's how she got her Papuan features.

This is a part of the History of the Phillippines, that I always admired: the Castilian War (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castilian_War).

PS: Not only for the fact, but for its consequences in the futur of the Phillippines, as well.

Well, my ethnic group, the Visayans were originally from Sri Vijaya in Sumatra before a revolt there against Rajah Makatunao of the invading Chola dynasty of India forced some Malays to flee here and set up guerilla states in the Philippines. Much like the Visigoth in th e Kingdom of Asturias, then Hindu India fell to the Sultanate of Delhi, soon their vassal states in Southeast Asia also became Muslim and we also fought against these Muslims too.

These Muslims from the Sultanates of the South enslaved and fought against the Animists and Hindus who stayed faithful to their religion and naturally saw the incoming Spanish as allies since Spain fought against the Moors who once raped and pillaged them too.

We Visayans have shed blood along with the Spanish in order to resist Muslim incursion. I appreciate the Spanish in this sense, especially considering the fact that so many of you guys died in the Philippines.

And you were dying for the cross and for a crusade that's so far away against an enemy that far outnumber you and were at that point, more powerful and populous than the beleaguered Christians.

Yet. Still. Even when the Muslims bombed and oppressed the Christians so much, the Spanish also showed Christian generosity to them.

Take for example, the Palace of Brunie. Even though once, the Bruneian Empire once terrorized and enslaved the Philippines, the Spanish-Filipino company, the Ayala corporation, constructed a Palace, the largest residential palace in the world, for the Sultan of Brunei.

The Istana Nurul Iman.

The Istana Nurul Iman is the world's largest residential Palace.

And it was constructed by the company of the Spanish-Filipino, family the Ayalas.

Ironic, considering that they're Basques and Basques along with Asturians were the back-bone of the Reconquista.

She looks Irian Jayan to be honest. She doesn't look like the typical Filipino, and she doesn't look like an Aeta either, who are really small and have very flat noses.

Well. Her home-province is very near Ternate, Cavite. She might indeed have Papuan descent.
