Why northern europeans is considered superior to southerns?

Everyone talks always about how north europeans are smarter, more civilized etc. better looking, taller, is this really true for reality? It seem as though tall blonde mens and women are very popular with the darker people because of rarity or some.

I have sympathy for Germanic people which is related more to politics sphere, their progress, and ancient times links we had, but I never gave a thought about their racial superiority etc,.

Says who? Might I remind you of a verse from an ancient Greek described Greeks as having medium skin as opposed to pale skin of Northerns and described blue eyes as cowardly. This goes to prove that the Greeks were a tanned Mediterranean race, not a bunch of Nordids.
