Researchers say ancestors mated with a now extinct species of human

It is the first time a gene from another species of human has been shown unequivocally to have helped modern humans adapt to their environment, Chinese researchers said.

Mutation is similar to a 'super athlete' gene believed to give improved athletic performance
Gene came from Denisovans, a human relative that became extinct 40,000-50,000 years ago
Ethnic Tibetans split off from the Chinese Han less than 3,000 years ago

Cultures in tibet has only 3000 years of history, in only 3000 years their genes mutated to suit the environment , human genes can adapt to an environment in about 3000 years. If you migrated to Africa, in 3000 years you dscendents could look like an average black.

Tibetans could be good material for training as cosmonauts, their tolerance toward lack of oxygen actually is a portential to fight claustrophobia, they would adapt well to isolation and closed spaces.

Well if you read a little more closely you would see that Tibetans did not mutate and adapt. They simply selected positively for a gene that they got from their Neanderthal/Denisova ancestors. It was those guys who did all the adapting. Tibetans just caught a genetic free-ride.

Most people in Africa are White or Khoisan; not black. Blacks are not adapted to their environment and represent a mutation.

I would absolutely agree to this.

Polynesians look very Denisovan and are the most naturally athletic people I've ever seen, even at 280lbs +.

They look like Uruk-hai or something. I believe the uruk-hai in lord of the rings were played by Maori actors.
