I guess the use of clarinet can suffice as "Balkan".

It's danced as Syrtos Roumelis(Central Greece) which seems quite a pan-Greek dance. Can't find much about it in the rest of Balkans, someone post it if it exists.

I'm 300% Armenian brought by the Byzantines to guard the borders+Judenkatsanoi+Azeri islander.

Qumeshtor tastes kinda creme-bruleish, although in Macedonia we also call it Kajmaqin?

Balkan culture = Highly emotionally intelligent people gone of the bandwagon due to Turkish invasion, add hashtags #ancient #cultures #languages #unique #music #themostbeautifulwomen #thebestmothers #thebestfood #amazingspiritualconscience #truefamilyties #undyingrespect #loyalty blah blah blah... p.s. swearing is a regular part of our vocabulary.

I met a gorgeous Romanian girl last night, she just moved here & you could definitely feel that Balkan connection, through our conversation and everything... Something the rest of Europe will probably never have/understand.

I think Balkan culture would have developed very diferently if it wasn't for the the Ottoman empire. Balkan Orthodox Christian culture also developed under Ottoman influence and I'm not even sure if Orthodoxy would have existed without Turks since the Byzanite empire was in decline and I think it would have been likely that Western European catholic kingdoms would have conquered the Balkans.

So the point is by who you would be conquered?

No matter how much you love Western Euros, all has been done now.

Christianity in all Europe developped from what it would be later called Orthodoxy.

The change started by establishing the Eastern Empire first, then with the settlement of barbaric groups in this region (mixture of different barbarian groups who later were named by a uniform name Slavs by Byzantine people), with the conquest/arrival of ottomans, who frankly speaking saw themselves as the continuation of Byzantine Empire. I think, therefore, that they have adopted more from the people here than vice-versa.

And as Faklon said, Christianity has its roots in this region before the Great Schism happened, and now everyone thinks that the Western part owns Christianity too.
