Mount Limbara (Gallurese: Monti di Limbara, Sardinian: Monte ‘e Limbara) is a rocky granitic massif in north-eastern Sardinia, Italy.
It is located in the geographical and historical region of Gallura.

Its highest peak is Punta Sa Berritta (1,362 m above sea level). Its area belongs to the comuni of Calangianus, Tempio Pausania, Berchidda and Oschiri, in the province of Olbia-Tempio.

The name could derive from the Latin Limes Balares ("Boundary of the Balares"), given it by the Romans as it marked the frontier with the territory still in the hands of the Balares, a late Nuragic tribe.

Mount Limbara was put to fire in 1936 and its woods made of cork oaks were replaced with pines, after a work of reforestation. After the World War II were planted forests of giant sequoias, too.

On the top of the massif was located a NATO Communications Relay Station and a Carabinieri's barrack. Today it is used as a telecommunications center for the Italian Air Force and a heliport for the Servizio Antincendi. It is also the location of all the major TV relay stations of West Sardinia. Today is a natural reserve and a regional park.

Monte Corrasi is the highest peak in the Supramonte (Highland) of Oliena with its 1463 m above sea level.

It is characterised by a bare and rocky environment with peculiar geo-morphological elements such as its karstic plains, rutted fields, caves, abysses, steeples and pinnacles of the strangest forms. More than 650 botanical species have been catalogued in the area of Monte Corrasi. Among these, the majority are exclusive to the limestone rocks of central Sardinia and others are present only on Monte Corrasi. For the particularity and wealth of species that grow on this mountain, the Italian Botanical Council has included, since 1971, Monte Corrasi in its census of the biotopes of remarkable vegetation interest and deserving of conservation.
Upstream in the valley of Lanaittu, the cave of Corbeddu is found that takes its name from the bandit that sheltered there during the last century and it is famed for having brought the remains of a deer to light, lived in Pleistocene. First human settlements found in this massif are dated 18,500 years ago.

Monte Pulchiana is the largest granite monolith in Sardinia, situated on a highland in northern Gallura, at 550-673 m above sea level. It is an inselberg that originated from the breakdown of the rock via a process of hydrolysis. It has a characteristic round form, "panettone" (traditional Italian Christmas cake) and is partly covered in low, ground hugging brush; the rocky surface has a pinkish-yellow colour due to the process of oxidation.
Monte Pulchiana is included among the natural monuments of Sardinia.
The plant cover is characterised by brush and woods of cork oaks.
Another characteristic of Monte Pulchiana is the upland plain of Lu Pari, covered to a large extent by rockrose. Part of the land is for pasture and during the rainy months is also becomes marshy. Near this plain it is possible to see an open excavated road that was used to transport large blocs of granite extracted from a now disused quarry.

The regional park of Monte Linas is characterized by large forests, majestic wild mountain ranges, numerous sources that generate many streams, rivers and waterfalls (including the waterfall of Rio Muru Mannu, with its 60 m is the highest of Sardinia).
Is an environment rich in forests of oak growing on ancient rocks (the oldest in Italy, with an age of more than 500 million years ago) and that preserve the signs of a glorious mining of a few decades ago.

Many peaks in the park exceeding 1,000 meters above sea level, the maximum altitude is reached from Punta Perda de sa Mesa with its 1,236 meters.
From the mountains, the view is remarkable, with the look you see much of central and southern Sardinia.

The Tacchi of Ogliastra are limestone-dolostone mountains whose name derives from the fact that they resemble the heel of a shoe. Of these, Perda Liana (Gairo) is the best known, but we must also mention Monte Tisiddu, Tacco Arba at Ussassai, Monte Lumburau, Monte Arquerì, Taccu Anguil'e Ferru and Punta Corongiu at Jerzu. Other sites of great beauty are the pass of San Giorgio, near Osini, and the caves of Su Marmuri (Ulassai). The geomorphology of this territory is marked by vast outcrops of Palaeozoic rock represented by Silurian schist, which form the crystalline base supporting the limestone formations of the Mesozoic. The tacchi offer visitors unspoilt landscapes and unique habitats. There is a spectacular variety of animal and plant life, with some extremely important endemic species.

The Monte Arci, is located in the central-western Sardinia, in Province of Oristano, spread over an area of 5,975 acres owned by the state. The maximum altitude is 812 m s.l.m.

This mountain has been important in the history of Sardinia and specifically in its mining history for prehistoric obsidian, very abundant in its slopes. The obsidian was more suitable for the manufacture of flint tools and weapons. This volcanic glass has contributed to the birth and growth of the first overseas trade of Sardinia, which led to contacts with distant peoples, useful to the formation of a remarkable civilization.

The territory of Monte Arci is covered with lush forests of oak and firs, habitat of the sardinian deer.

Montiferru is a historical region of central-western Sardinia, Italy. It takes its name from the eponymous extinct volcano massif, whose main peak is the Monte Urtigu (1,050 m). Extending for some 700 km², the massif had originally a maximum elevation of c. 1,600/1,700 m, later reduced due to erosion.
