Ukraine’s integration with the EU is a key priority for the country, its new President, Viktor Yanukovich declared in Brussels.
Yanukovich, who is in Brussels on his first state visit abroad since he took over, met with the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso.
“Our priorities will include integration into the European Union, bringing up constructive relations with the Russian Federation, and developing friendly relations with strategic partners such as the United States. For Ukraine, European integration is a key priority in our foreign policy, and this is also a key element in our strategy for the social and economic reforms we are going to carry out,” Yanukovich stated during his joint press conference with Barroso, as quoted by BGNES.
