Yemeni Jews are just unadmixed Arabians (without Bantu and South/East Asian influence). Which means you may have a small but substantial Arabian-like ancestry.
Bedouins from the Negev are not first despite being your closest neighbour geographically.

That is what I find odd. Why would a yemeni jew be my first ranking despite being egyptian copt and if I do have arabian ancestry, which i am almost positive I do, why yemeni and not negev bedouin...

Also what do u mean by small but substantial? What percentage would that be? Is it enough to trump Egyptian as no1.?

You most likely have ANE ancestry which is lacking in some Negev Bedouin. Besides, there were several waves of Arabians into the Near East and North Africa and it is known some were of Yemeni descent.
Your exact non-Egyptian ancestry is unknown to me because we don't know yet what pre-christianity and pre-islam Egypt was. However, based on your affinity with the two Egyptian samples, you still come out as more Near Eastern than the average.
You should know that each % of African ancestry makes anybody stand out right away because African ancestry makes you less genetically bottlenecked than "purer" Eurasians. So even with minor Near Earestern ancestry, you should be still matching one of the Egyptian sample first, before any Near Easterner.
Also, don't take the results too seriously. This is a company known for changing very often its results and it doesn't really increase the accuracy. 23andme is the contrary: it almost never changes its highly unreliable results.

Understood. 23andme clusters me exactly with negev bedouins so either I have specific arabian ancestry or egyptians l. A whole resemble bedouin dna.

What is your ANE score with Eurogenes K=7 by the way?

I have like 0% ANE...
0.26% ANE
0.00% ASE
7.68% WHG-UHG
1.42% East_Eurasian
0.00% West_African
12.00% East_African
78.63% ENF *

Then it doesn't make sense if your Arabian-like ancestry is ANE-free like the Negev Bedouin. Maybe your presumed ANE is hidden under East Eurasian? Or partially under WHG-UHG?
What do you usually score for the West Asian component?

You're probably descended from original Jewish-Christians.
Yemeni Jews are Judeans mixed with Arabian.

Yes but for some reason I get a lot of conflicting results from tests as to what my origins are. I get bedouin, palestinian, egyptian and in this case my top population is yemeni jew over egyptian.

Maybe because modern Muslim Egyptians have some West African admixture from the slave trade.

You clearly have Arabian ancestry, and it's probably tied to the Ghassanids.

Not necessarily from Yemen. Yemenite Jews, some Yemenis and most Saudis are pretty much the same genetically. You're more likely to have Arabian ancestry from a place closer to Egypt, like Northern Arabia, the Sinai...
Anyway, based on the recent study on Sudan, all Copts from Egypt and Sudan would represent what the whole Egypt was during the pre-islamic Christian era.

Ah ok makes sense :) so the snp test is for deep ancestry right? My ancestors probably moved to Egypt within the last 2k years.
