it's just a name that lithuanians sometimes have. It doesn't mean he has german ancestry.

His ancestor was a Baltic German from Latvia who moved to Lithuania several hundred years ago.

He is a son of Vytautas Landsbergis, a known political figure. There is an interview (http://www.delfi.lt/news/daily/lithuania/vlandsbergis-mano-seimos-istorija-yra-pamokanti-ir-samoneje-paliekanti-elgesio-kriterijus.d?id=55700259) where V. Landsergis talks about his family (not avalaible in English or Russian). There are some pictures of his father attached to it though.
