I think those people you sampled came from South Vietnam. South Vietnam was the location of an Indianized kingdom called Champa, were Vedoids and Caucasiods from India served as the scholar caste. Whereas North Vietnam and under the Dai Viet were more Sinid because they used to be a province of China, before declaring independence and annexing the south.
