The interesting thing is I have met Lebanese Brazilians who looked no different than other white and offwhite Brazilians, but I don't expect them to have been average. But Lebanese share genes with all European people to some extent even though they also have significant genetic affinity to the Arabian Peninsula that is not present in the vast majority of Europeans and isn't even a major element in Cyprus.
People think I try to whitewash the Lebanese but I honestly don't.. I recognize they're not European. However I think that their ancestors, the Canaanites, played an important role in shaping the pre-Arab Near East, and pre-GrecoRoman Europe. Lebanese are very similar, for instance, to the original Jews, and to some of the earliest settlers of the Mediterranean islands (Malta, Sicily, Crete, etc) even though of course the populations have diverged, and there is Paleolithic European ancestry everywhere in Europe that lacks in the Levant. I've never denied this and have always been very academically honest.
Interesting. But if Abraham has mesopotamic (Irak) origin, WHY do jews cluster with leventines in genetic means?
Excuse me, I'm still a child in genetic subjects.

My answer would be that the core of the Jewish population in Israel were native Canaanites, not Mesopotamians.

Excuse me, I forgot the interrogation point.

Abraham didn't exist though.
Native Canaanites made up stories over the centuries about people in the territories they had cultural exchanges with (like Mesopotamia through Assyrian conquest and Persian conquest). Egypt played an even bigger role (Moses, Joseph etc).

Bumping this for you :)
I deleted the post in my thread since it makes more sense to just bump this one.
What I suspect is that the original Jews, if they were Mesopotamian, had much time to intermix with the Canaanites (Edomites, Phoenicians, etc.) and that the original Levantines and Mesopotamians were not very different themselves.

Really, I think persians and arabians changed a lot the original genetic content of mesopotamia more recently.
And mass deportation was a practice of most Near East civilizations, Assyrians, Babylonians, etc.
But think only levantines preserved so old stock intact is a presumption. Why only them? Why only them if they are WHO suffered more heavily the influence from other peoples?
