I'm not to sure, I'm half adere and half Tigre and in my mothers family(who are adere), some of my relatives see themselves as "Muslim" habesha a while others see themselves as merely adere. You have to understand aderes don't really know what to call themselves, as those who didn't mixed with oromo people can be white/octoroon/multiracial. Aderes often have roots in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, persia. My mothers family has roots on Persia. But I think a long time ago one of the harar amirs destroyed many aderes links to their ancestral countries in order to create a unified hararian identity.

Depends really on how you define habesha...to many ethiopians in the diaspora, habesha could just mean an ethiopian Semite and whoever looks "habesha", , yet in Ethiopia, to be classified as habesha, I think you have to belong to a group that can claim Solomonic ancestry
