View Full Version : Did the 12,5% admixture really influence the phenotype of someone?
Of course I'm not talking about of the mix with non-caucasian, just between caucasians people.
My paternal grandfather is half sephardic and half hungarian, the jewish part did some differences in me (my nose was really jew before the nose job) and the hungarian part in my brother, IMO.
But I want opinions.

A lot of Europeans have big noses, chiefly in the South(East), but also in the North. You're probably mistaking a normal European big nose for a jew one. The nose of the jew often looks literally like a "6" if seen on profile.

Well, my mother has a small and "normal" nose, but my grandfather has a big nose, actually, he looks ashkenazi.

A non-caucasoid admixture is mostly invisible as well if it's only 12,5%. Show me a 12,5% black or Asian person who doesn't look white/Caucasian.

Not sure. My English ancestry is very far back and I don't know much about it. I've been trying to find out more about it, though. According to what I've put together, I am 7/8 Russian and 1/8 German with an unknown and most likely very very small amount of English in me.

Even for Brazil? Do think all your whites are 100% European? Even so most are of Southern European stock (Portuguese, Spanish, Italian). I thought you have quite a lax definition of whiteness. That 1/8 black woman should be considered white in Brazil, not brown. Let alone her daughter.

The woman is considered parda here. Of course all "white" brazilians are not 100% euro, Karina Bacchi for example is considered white, but her mother isn't.

Pardo/parda is a very confusing term for non-brazilians, I think. All mixed people are "pardos", a 80% white and 20% amerindian person, for example, is parda, the same with all mix between whites, blacks and asians.
There's not a fixed number, in theory the term "pardo" generalizes everything who is not "pure".
Pardo not means brown, means mixed;

É um bom argumento esse, não há motivos aparentes para terem separado São Paulo em dois como fizeram com MT e GO, porque esses dois últimos eram territórios precários, já SP é desenvolvido desde a mudança do eixo econômico do nordeste para o centro-sul.

I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't show such admixture. it bothers only internet racialists. But in reality a 50% Swedish, 25% English and 25% Indian or Chinese person may look even whiter than a 100% Italian or Balkan person. It's not always like that, but it's possible.
