Armenia stands as a natural friend and ally of the Western Civilization. While the West will pay more attention to the oil reserves of countries like Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan, military assets of countries like Turkey or Jordan, they may very well overlook Armenia.

Why does Armenia stand as a natural friend and ally of Western Civilization?

-Armenia was the first nation to adopt Christianity and till this day has carried on its ancient Christian culture and values

-Armenians have struggled immensely to keep and sustain their religion in the face of larger and stronger Islamic powers that have often oppressed and massacred Armenians.

-The Armenian Kingdom of Cilica served as a key ally to the Crusaders and strengthened the ties between Europe and the Armenian Kingdom. The Last Armenian King, Leo V, as a result is buried in Hôtel des Tournelles, Paris.

-While under a dual economic blockade from Turkey and Azerbaijan, a small border with sanction hit Iran, little natural resources, and land-locked, Armenia has managed to build a stable democracy based on Western Values and principles in the past two decades. Many of Armenia's laws have been reformed according to EU/European standards, and as a result Armenia stands as one of the freest countries in the region in terms of civil rights, media freedoms, and democratic standings. It has also made great strides to make the economic atmosphere freer and more transparent, and is at part with Western European states when it comes to Economic Freedom index.

-While Armenia has little natural resources, it has had a growing IT Sector and as a result companies like Microsoft and Intel have opened offices and centers in the country. Armenia relies heavily on its 'human capital'- for this reason excellent educational institutions like the Dilijan International School have opened in the country drawing students from many countries. IT and Tech start ups by Armenians is also growing, and furthermore the success and investments of Armenians abroad.

I write this thread to demonstrate some of the potentials that the country of Armenia has and in what context the West should view Armenia. While problems remain in the country connected with the economy and political situation, given our history and current geopolitical situation, we have managed to achieve a great deal...just look at the political situation and freedom of our much bigger and much richer neighbors like Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran.
