9 major snps

I looked up mine but i dont know which variant is associated with higher or lower IQ
Six of the nine hub SNPs indirectly influenced performance intellectual performance by modulating the associations between white matter anisotropy and performance IQ (Fig. 9). This modulatory effect was significant in white matter tracts related to IQ (Chiang et al., 2009b), such as the fornix (rs10091460 and rs4872262), genu and splenium of the corpus callosum (rs17038289), cingulum (rs17038289), the anterior limb of the internal capsule (rs10091460 and rs4872262), optic radiation (rs2012223), superior longitudinal fasciculus (rs7839054), and superior corona radiata (rs4245110 and rs17038289).

rs4872262 AG
rs17038289 AA
rs2012223 CT
rs7839054 not genotyped
rs4245110 AC
can you look up yours and investigate further which combinations influence hereditariasm of IQ how. thanks.

i made the thread on 23andme and that seems to be the most common white peoples combination. Only me and an African American and a Central Asian were different. They (African American and Central Asian) had the same as Guapo (but i think Guapo is trolling and it is not his)

We already know that many of our seemingly non-physical traits are linked to our DNA, but as time goes on, I have a feeling we'll find that nearly everything about us is thanks to our genetics.
Nature>>>>>Nurture
If you were nurtured well, it's thanks to your parent's nature.

Well you can lack food etc. or medical service etc. Also if it goes on for generations the population might select negatively or your family etc. I agree with Jackson (in the other thread) also i believe that not everything about us is physical/genetic/biological and that we have a soul

There was an article fairly recently which claimed a genetic basis for things such as political affiliation.
Actually, all sorts of traits can be assigned some degree of heritibility, and we choose friends and partners on the similarity of their most heritable traits on average. Subconsciously that is, for the most part. Genetics, twin and adoptee studies and other things like that are leading towards an increasing number of non-PC conclusions. In that most things about us are to some degree genetic and to some degree to do with the environment, and some things more one than the other by a considerable amount. Of course overall it deals with averages. So f.e East Asians on average are slightly more intelligent than Europeans on average, that doesn't mean that there isn't considerable overlap however.
As it stands IQ is 60-80% heritable. So people can advance in intelligence slightly based on their environment. And of course there is a lot of variation within groups and between individuals. So someone being East Asian or Ashkenazi Jewish doesn't de-facto make them more intelligent, but they are more likely to be of a higher intelligence if they were selected at random. Also i think there are subtle differences in distribution as well between populations, so one might have a broader range overall (so more idiots and more genius compared to the second group), while the second group is more tightly distributed around the average.

I dont know though why some of you applaud that or want it to be like that, if non-physical traits and decisions we make are based on our genetics or chemistry processes in our brains etc. or whatever then there is not much else about us, i mean something deeper etc. like a soul. and we just seem to have free will while we dont. thats scary to me, i think that comes from a school of science i dont know if that is true even if it is mainstream in science.

Well you could always think of our genetics as our soul i suppose, it plays a large part in guiding you.

soul to me is something which transedence biology/organism. also we dont have free will, we are determined by our genetics and we cant change much. even who we vote for etc. i think thats called determinism and is a school of thought, biological determinism etc. it is trendy now but in 100 years maybe not. i wouldnt believe everything just because scientists say it.

Biological determinism used to be very popular in the 19th and the first half of the 20th century, then fell out of favour and now i think the evidence is pointing towards biological factors playing a large, or even the major role - but not being the exclusive factor.

Although, to be fair, I am at the stereotypical top of the "genetic hierarchy," so I'm sure I see things very differently than you do.
