10 South Slavic places you must visit in your life. It’s your lucky day, we hand picked the best South Slavic places you should visit! Okey to be honest, there are at least dozens more, but we had to draw the line somewhere and pick the best ones in our humble opinion that you should look at! Now you will truly enjoy this tour, i mean, not only will you love local South Slavic Balkan food, but you will enjoy talking with these tempered, proud and open people too! The past wars in Balkans did a lot of harm to people but on the other side did give birth to very unique (but still Slavic) cultures that tell you very interesting stories of these lands. No doubt you will enjoy amazing landscape with even better cosine and one of more interesting people that earth has to offer! Hope you enjoy this little but informative South Slavic tour!

Lake Bled – Slovenia

The small alpine town in northern Slovenia has a glacial lake in the middle of this jewel has a small islet with a small baroque church. On the website in addition to walk around the lake and visit the island suggest that you try the local specialty: kremšnito at Park.


Plitvice Lakes - Croatia

Natural Park Plitvice Lakes has a number of waterfalls, gallery of lakes, forests and various animal species. Sixteen lakes is known primarily for its palette of different colors, from azure to green, from gray to blue. Colors will vary depending on how much the minerals or organisms in the water and at what angle the sun shines into it.


Budva – Montenegro

Montenegro is in itself a Balkan gem. A special pearl lies on the Adriatic coast near Budva – Sveti Stefan, a small polotoček with prestigious hotels. Old fishing village in the 15th century converted into a modern luxury hotels, rooms, shops, restaurants and cafes.


Old bridge of Mostar – BiH

City on Neretva River is one of the most famous historical cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is one of the few places that is rich in Islamic architecture. It was named after the old bridge and. Watchtower on both sides (Mostar). In 1993, the old bridge during the war in that country torn Croats, and today it is the bridge restored according to old plans.


Lake Ohrid – Macedonia

Lake Ohrid is located between Ohridom and Struga, on the border between Macedonia and Albania and is the seventh deepest lake in Europe. It is the most visited tourist destination in Macedonia. Lake Ohrid boasts a unique species. The lake is particularly due to geographical isolation and great geological age.


Nesebar, oldest town in Bulgaria

Nesebar is one of the oldest towns in Bulgaria. Place on a peninsula in the Black Sea is composed of two parts, which are connected by the strait. The old area is full of old buildings and picturesque churches. At the entrance to the old town are the remains of the walls, which were made in 1983 on the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage. In recent years the city into a modern European city with attractive tourist hotels.

Fort City Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik is a Croatian city on the Adriatic Sea, in the region of Dalmatia. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, a seaport and the centre of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Its total population is 42,615 (census 2011). In 1979, the city of Dubrovnik joined the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.


Devil’s Town – Serbia

Devil’s Town (Đavolja varoš) is an amazing formation of rocks which is located at the south of the Serbia, in the nearby of cities of Kuršumlija and Niš. It is about 280 kilometers away from the capital of Serbia, Belgrade.


Vintgar Gorge – Slovenia

The Vintgar Gorge is a 1.6-kilometer gorge located in Slovenia in the Municipality of Gorje near the settlement of Zgornje Gorje, four kilometers northwest of Bled.

Then you should know that Albanians are genetically a million times closer to Slavs than to the people of Dagestan.
