Whole Balkan have weird climate. It can get very hot in the summer (three years ago temp in August was 44C) and in the winter it can go down to -30C.

I would like to visit some of the balkans, many guys of the northeast italy do this (we are few hours of car away), but I've been told that in some parts can be dangerous to go if you don't know the place very well.
By the way it would be an interesting trip, no doubt.

well if you go to gypsy gheto will be dangerous

that's dangerous in any nation
I meant that there could be still some grudge between the nations (expecially near the borders) but I'm very ignorant about balkans history.

Most of these beautiful buildings from 19th century were built by German and Austrian architects. Bulgarains would never be able of that.
