I have a question and be sure to read it carefully since it is confusing.

To those of you with nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or cousins. I want to know the following, because it will help me gauge some things about how ethnic looks get passed down and dominant/recessive traits.

1) Do you have any nieces, nephews, cousins, or grandchildren? If so, which and how many?
2) How are they related to you? (I.e. which side of their family are you on, or vice versa)
3) What is their ethnic mixture?
4) Which ethnicity do they look and which side of the family do they take after? Or are they a mixture?

I have so many cousins that I can't answer about all of them but here it is about my nieces, 6 and 4 year old (my brother's kids).

The older one is very dark and exotic and looks almost like a South Asian kid. The younger one has a look that is very common for Bulgarian children.

My brother looks a lot like me but a bit darker. His wife has very common Bulgarian look, a bit darker pigmented than average.

I have 3 sisters, 1 is married to a Serbian and the other 2 to Montenegrin (well their mother is Serbian from Herzegovina, those 2 of my sisters married 2 of their brothers). They consider themselves as is usual Montenegrin first, Serbian then.

However, they still look like my family, so not much difference.

My paternal grandfather was German and my maternal grandfather was Italian. I have a sister and she is married to an Italian. Almost all my French and German family have light eyes. My Italian family, about 60% have light eyes (my grandfather had blue eyes). My niece has green eyes, but my Italian brother-in-law has brown eyes.

I have 2 children, both have blue eyes and platinum blond hair. I'm also blonde and have blue eyes. My wife has green eyes and light brown hair.

I would say that all my familly are typical of our ethnicity.

I don't have many cousins (close ones). I have two older brothers (late twenties) and one older sister but none of them have kids. My father's brother doesn't have kids so no cousins from that side either.

I do have two cousins from my mother's side (children of her sister, my aunt). One of them is Bosnian Serb, married to a Serbian. She has two children (girl and boy) and both look more like her than their father. She and her daughter have light brown (almost blonde) hair and blue-greyish eyes. Her son has blonde hair and brown eyes. Their complexion is not pale, but not dark either. Something in between.

Other cousin is Croat. He has dark hair and brown eyes and same complexion as his sister. He doesn't have kids but his wife is Australian of English descent (pale, blue eyes and blonde hair) so who knows how his children will look like.

my sister married an anglo-american / polish mix with scottish surname.
her kids look, for the most part, like german americans, though two of the younger ones look much more irish and one niece resembles me at her age more than she does any of her other close relatives.

we are Nicaraguans, Not Hispanics(such a broad term dont you think) and we moved to the USA at such a young age that we got used to white non hispanic women, I moved down to Nicaragua when I was 26, but they are still living in UTAH..

They (aunt of my grandma, her sister and brother-in-law) immigrated to Caen in Normandy soon after II War ended to work in factory. Aunt passed away few years ago being 99 years old, the others long ago, don't know when even. She had son with Frenchman who's my dad's godfather.
