I usually think fair Italians look more Germanic than Slavic but I think you have a point about Maria.

She is full Southern Italian and she still looks Italian even if she is blonde.

Some Slavic ancestry in her case is pretty evident, no matter how remote. It's not her Northern looks that makes her atypical, but the fact she has part-Slavic features. In some pictures she looks Italian, in others she looks Slavic. Overall I would guess her as Yugoslav.
