Heart of Neolithic Orkney to feature on new banknotes
The Heart of Neolithic Orkney is one of five World Heritage Sites in Scotland to feature on new banknotes being produced later this year by the Clydesdale Bank.
The Orkney site will be detailed on the £100 note, alongside architect, designer and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Others banknotes will feature St Kilda, the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh, New Lanark, and the Antonine Wall, while portraits of notable Scots included will be Robert the Bruce, Robert Burns, David Livingstone and Lord Kelvin.
The notes, to be in circulation later this year, will include a new "depth image" hologram security feature.
