So basically Brit-Irish is higher everywhere, & much higher than German.
Apart from "maybe" North Dakota with Scando.

North Dakota is known for it's Norwegian American population.

btw does this make Mississippi, Americas most Anglo-Scots-Irish state. And does that make sense to you guys?

In terms of outward Migration. Norway was Europe's second highest in the late 19th Century. So it makes sense.

ok I found the answer in the PDF
Inferred British/Irish ancestry is found in European Americans from all states at mean proportions of
above 20%, and represents a majority of ancestry, above 50% mean proportion, in states such
as Missisippi, Arkansas, and Tennessee. We note that these states are similarly highlighted in
the map of the self-reported “American” ethnicity in the US census survey

Mississippi along with it's bordering states, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee? That area also identifies the most as being of the "American" ethnicity.
EDIT: Ah, already found that.

The Italians are a legitimate European population.

Yeah, these results highlight the fact that Americans underreport British ancestry.
But, you have to keep in mind that 23andMe's sensitivity to British and, say, German ancestry is not equal. The Midwest is more German than the mean of <15% showing up via 23andMe ACs.

I think that a lot of the German of white Americans may be under the "broadly North Euro" umbrella. Still, White Americans are more British than anything else.

that would fit with my experience of people generally under reporting germanic ancestry and within that especially underreporting british ancestry, so that they can report other more fashionable swarthier ethnicities

I think the results are pretty consistent with these White American averaging:

I'm sure many are, but given the disparity in Ashkenazi and Italian scores compared to the self reporting, I can't help but wonder if some Jews are claiming to be Italian. (Maybe because it is more trendy?)

This just shows what I've been saying all along. British ancestry is underreported. Especially English ancestry. English American are quiet numerous and English ancestry is by far the most widespread. Most non-hispanic Americans have it.
If these percentages reflect the real situation we're in then I must say that it's not that bad. The most common ancestries seem all to be from NW-Europe, not as much Italian and Eastern European as one might think.
