By this I mean, the root is of one linguistic origin and the ending is of another.

An example is this very strange surname I encountered the other day -- Gotlibovsky. Gottlieb (Germanic) + ovsky (Slavic).

Dimitrov might be another example. Greek and Slavic.

It is. But it just struck me as funny because it's clearly not a Slavic root, with a Slavic ending tacked on the end. :lol:
