I think Greeks look intermediate between Bulgarian and southern Italian. If you use Apulia or Lucania they might be closer to them, but they are not closer to Calabrese/Sicilian than Bulgarian but intermediate.

I actually think many French do not fit in Spain though, like the Germanic types.

Just to clarify for alnortedelsur in particular: Spaniards and Greeks generally look pretty similar to me, although the latter tend to be bulkier and stockier than the former, while I think the former have a marginally higher percentage of light hair and light eyes than do the latter. Where I think the difference really comes into this is that France is a somewhat more Northern European (shifted) country than is Bulgaria, which is a very brunette Balkan country.
