I bought a 2nd kit for a grandparent and my parents keep stating that they don't trust American DNA testing companies and they're all "corrupt" and what if the dna data is sold onto health insurance companies bla bla bla.

To be honest, I think they're being fucking paranoid and I don't give a shit that 23andme have my DNA.

What are peoples' opinions on this. Anything to reassure my sensationalist parents would be good.

Why would you even care, who the hell can do anything with your genetic results.

Don't they destroy your sample after the results are done?

You can opt to dispose sample. Btw, they receive millions of samples, I don't think it would matter.

I think you can ask them to destroy it if you want. But exactly, like you say, who gives a shit. People are far too paranoid imo.

Pointless.

I read and look for projects to donate my dna so it can be used for various experiments or my wet dream cloning, and people are paranoid for it.
