A relative of mine tested r1b1b2a1a2f*. Is this closely related to my haplogroup of R1b1b2a1a2c? What can you tell me about it? I can find little online

British/Irish Celtic. Found in recent iron age Brit. Most common in Scotland, Ireland & Wales.

Also found throughout West Europe. With a decent amount in Basqueland.

That's strange. How would an Afrikaner have it then? His direct paternal line goes back to South Holland.

This haplogroup originated in West Germany/Eastern France and moved towards the Isles. Holland is on the way....

It isn't that specific and is found in places like Norway, Germany and Holland so no big deal for a Dutch descended Afrikaner to have this. You would have to get more testing to see what subclade he is downstream from L21. If he was something like M222 than that would be highly likely to be Irish or Scottish but not L21 per se.
