Dinarid (+Alpine and Nordid admix).
Isn't Ruslan a Christian name? Could he be Ossetian instead?

I donīt know really. It seems to be a common name in Russia. Predominantly among muslims (?), I think.

He's fully Ingush. Ruslan is a very common name in the Caucasus used by all ethnicities.

His full name is: Ruslan Sultanovich Aushev
As for the classification. I pretty much agree with the second post.

Is it common among ethnic Russians too?

Certainly not as common among Russians as it is in the Caucasus, but you still come across a Russian Ruslan on the odd occasion.
Ruslan is a very typical Russian First Name. But his Patronym and Family Name have to 100 % non-Russian roots.

Looks Turkish. Anatolid (an unreduced Alpinoid = Anatolian CM)
Ruslan can also be met among Bulgarians in rare occasions.
I thought it comes from the Slavic word for "blond". Didn't Caucasians borrow it from Russians?

Well, the Nakh peoples (Ingushs and Chechens) are believed to have migrated from Anatolia and the Fertile Crescent, several thousand years ago.

Possibly. But Iīm not sure about that.

This is what Wikipedia says :
There are two versions of the origin of this name. First, that it derives from the Turkic language family and means "lion". Second, that it derives from Old Scandinavian and means "the Russian land".
