Today, we celebrate 25 years since 17th November 1989. Our Velvet revolution in Czechoslovakia. The day when massive protests started. Mass demonstrations that led us to hope, democracy, freedom, fall of Soviet regime in our country. End of terror and unlawfulness. End of an iron wall between us and civilised Europe. It is very important historical moment for all Czechs and Slovaks.

Something about 1.000.000 people participated in a very peacefull way, in all towns and many villages, across both of our brother nations.
At first, we were scared that special forces and Russian army will atack us and make a big bloodbath. And later, when we realised, we have won, there was so much euphory and hapiness, I remmember to stay whole days with my ear in front of a radio and listen to the progress as a child, mass of hunderd thousands singing about freedom. We got rid of communists and Russians that enslaved us for so long. I´m very grateful to all our people that sacrificed their life, freedom, health or career oportunity to fight against the past regime.

One of the few holidays here worth its status :) Though our parents only joined the bandwagon started in Poland and Hungary.
I'm also glad that today, on 25th anniversary the more conscious Czechs have shown to the world that they disapprove of that drunk, uncultured Russian agent Zeman. A pity that one of the eggs accidentally hit the other president and not the ugly face it was aimed at! :D
