Hey! After taking a hiatus of a few years, I thought I'd come on back and see how things are going. My name is Andy and I have recently moved back up to Virginia from Florida after a nearly six year marriage ended. I am obviously interested in heritage and this is mine.. my paper trail shows English, Scottish, Ulster Scots, French, German and German Swiss heritage. The 23andMe DNA analysis shows me being 56.5% British and Irish, 16.0% French and German, 3.3% Scandinavian and 0.3% Finnish. I have 22.2% broadly Northern European, 0.3% Broadly Southern European and 1.0% Broadly European. I show also 0.2% Native American ancestry and 0.2% Sub- Saharan African ancestry. My Paternal Haplogroup is I1 and my mtDNA is K2. I am a member of the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod and teach Sunday School. I am a substitute teacher and a cashier. My views on certain things have softened and on other things they've solidified further. I'm nowhere near the hard right xenophobe I used to be.. you really can't be in my lines of work. I'm still very proud of my heritage and family, thank you and I should hope others would be just as proud of theirs. Thank you so much for the welcome, Nabatea1! :) Yeah, I wasn't overly surprised at the results, although I do admit that I was somewhat pleased to see the 3.3% Scandinavian and the 0.3% Finnish.. those Northern cultures have always fascinated me. :cool:
