How strong was the Genoese and Portuguese impact on Canarian genetics?

I was looking around Wikipedia and saw that when Alonso Fernandez de Lugo was governor of Tenerife and La Palma and in charge of immigration, he favored Genoese and Portuguese immigrants over Castilian ones. I can't seem to find any info on the genetic impact they left aside from a thread on ForumBiodiversity in which some people mention it was "strong".

Is there any actual info out there about this?
