I2a dinaric originated in the Balkans and was carried along the Carpathians by the Vlachs, who eventually settled in Hungary, Southern Poland, Czech Republic and the Balkans. This explains why the center of diversity appears to be in Southern Poland; because it was carried there by Vlachs who are I2a dinaric dominant. The current theory is that is came from Southern Poland and came to the Balkans with the Slavs. That may be possible, but in Slavic countries R1a dominates. Imo most I2a dinaric people in the Balkans are just native Balkanites who have a long heritage in the region. There are also other holes in the Slavic theory, such as why are people from the mountainous regions of the Dinaric Mountains dominant in I2a when the Slavs settled in the valleys? Also how could the Slavs replace the native people so quickly? IMO its native to the Balkans.

I am proud of being a member of the Slavic group of peoples, however we are not exactly Baltids or East Nordids. The question is why?

I think only Albos dissapprove that theory :D
And some wanna-be Slavs from various Balkan countries.

Because you are not Slavs, thats why.

I don't have anything against Slavs and I could originate from a South Slav. However, I think that most South Slavs are indigenous to the Balkans. They really don't look like Slavs, they look Dinaric.

Genetic calcs show that they are descended from slavs but partially and that some of their ancestry is indigenous. I'd say they aren't "not slavs" some of them just aren't MOSTLY slav...

Ur I2-Dinaric North. Yes south Slavs have this but not in majority it's more common in Poles, Belarussians and Ukrainians

I'm afraid it is Slavic. We're just gonna have to accept this fact and live with it somehow. For those who can live with it that is. I2a2b "dinaric" is fucking Slavic. God help us! I'm going to find some high building somewhere in my city right now. And jump.

This is still a new field of study and we will have to see what the final answer is. Ya'll just can't take it that Greeks are so awesome and pure.

On Dodecad V3, Sicily and Cyprus have around 4% East European and Greeks only have a bit more, only 11%. If there was Slavic input shouldn't it be higher?

It is probably Slavic but my mind is open until I see a real study. Not that it really matter where it originated, it is the superior haplogroup I and you should be happy if you have it

It is probably not the haplogroup of original Slavic (IndoEuropean) speakers but it is most likely spread on Balkans via Slavic expansion. to me that is more logical conclusion than the "native" theory.

I would have expected Adriatic natives to have either Germanic haplogroups or Neolithic? We should wait for proof and it will be interesting:)

There's no way all o I2a in Greece is from Slavs...It may have originated north of Greece in the northern part of the Balkans but it isnt all because of Slavs..that's nonsense.

It is possible but it is also possible that it originated in Eastern Europe proper.

My saliva should be already at the lab of tribecode who supposedly they analyze 100x more of your genome and more details on haplogroups I guess?! Don't even know what to expect..

Southern Albanians have mixed with Bulgarians imo,and that's where I2 and R1a are found.

Greeks plot south of Albanians on average, so they should have less Baltic, should. I never studied the distribution too much.

jesus christ...
Vlachs are romanized mixed population, that popped up after fall of Byzantium, they are not original carriers of nothing.
Illyrians settled balkans from south Poland/Czech, i.e Capathian mountains, 1000 years B.C, so even they didnt "originate" in Balkans, actually oldest haplgroup in west Balkans was found to be R1a
I haplogroup originated in ME 20 000 years ago, and I2 is for the most part Slavic today
