Always thought Faust was a pure Nordic given everything I have seen him in (including interviews in some DVDs) but after examining these picts he certainly appears to have some Alpine influence.

P.S. There is a mischling Jew that I work with that is a ironicly enough a huge Emperor fan, anyone know if they are racist like Mayhem were (Varg and Hell Hammer) so I can tease him about it? :confused::confused:

That may be so Pallantides - you and I know it. But you can't deny that to the layman, Bard does not exemplify what they would consider a typical Norwegian... in the same way that I'm sometimes told I look "a bit Greek or Spanish" despite being of English/Dutch ancestry. Chances are Bard has been told he looks "a bit foreign" - wrongly of course, but it must be acknowledged that people's idea of how someone from a certain country should look often differs from the hard, scientific reality.

I'm pretty sure they weren't. Actually, I think Bard Faust's wife is Argentinian or something. And I've not heard of the other members being at all interested in topics of ethnicity.

Pallantides, have you or 'darker' friends of yours never once been told, by an ignorant fellow Norwegian, that "you look a little bit *insert foreign nation*"? England is traditionally recognised as less 'blonde' than Norway, and yet I and my fellow countrymen who happen to have darker hair and features have experienced as much. I find it hard to believe that Nordicist tendencies are more common among the English than among Norwegians.

And remember, I'm not myself saying that Bard Faust looks foreign - I'm simply acknowledging that he might be regarded as such by more ignorant people.

This belief or rather misconception about Nordic looks seem to be more common outside Scandinavia, so it's possible that British people have more "Nordicist" tendencies or whatever you like to call it.
But outside Scandinavia I have been mistaken for other nationalites.
