Well, if someone who looks like that came up to me and told me they were Irish, I would believe them.

The guy in the OP looks very Irish. He has weak bones in the malar and especially orbital rim regions, however, making his eyes look droopy--obvious scleral show and a negative palpebral fissure inclination--as a result.

I would guess UK and Ireland in general.

This guy looks more stereotypically Irish IMO. This is the most Irish looking person I have ever seen :

I agree with KevinB on this one. I think Colm Meaney is more stereotypically Irish looking.

well since you have Irish ancestry and interacted more with irish people I will believe you of course but is it possible that the guy I posted is very typical for the darker Irish and the man you posted for lighter/ginger Irish ?

Well he does indeed have a definitive Brunn look.

Guy you posted doesn't look Irish at all, that would be far from the first thing I would guess him as. Looks like some kind of Med from Italy. The Irish for the most part look very similar to Scots/Welsh/British, there isn't so much difference, although they've got a few types that are unique.

really ?

well I think he would pass as Italian but I really would guess him Irish even though as I said I can mostly just go by pics/videos/tv since I met maybe a handful or Irish or partially Irish people in real life

I thought the man I posted would be like an extremely good example ...seems I was wrong

It may be just the look in his eyes. He has that melancholic gaze that the Irish have a lot. But as for his overall face and clarification, I would put him as some kind of Meditarranid. They are there, but not that common. Average Irish look is really Brunn/CM. Many of the guys in that video look uber-Brunn.

I thought the Med types in Ireland is not that rare

Well the man you posted does remind me of Colin O'Donoghue who has another Irish look but I guess they could also fit in other countries. Someone like Colm Meaney could only be Irish. :)

If I had to guess maybe I'd say Irish or Scottish. The pic gives off that vibe to me.

I dunno, I guess it depends on what is considered Med.

First thing that struck me though, is how much these people look like American "rednecks".

I'm not really a fan of those sort of classifications and genetics doesn't back it up. Even when you think about it logically Ireland is a long way from the Mediterranean. :) Even when using these classifications there are distinctive traits that set people apart. Colin Farrell is a favourite of anthroforums because of his look but even though Colin is darker than the average Irishman I think his features are quite Irish. Look at his profile and it is very Irish.

I think the most stereotype thing about Irish regards the eyes. Irish eyes are very close and squinty.

It is interesting how the face really works as a structure, the weak malars do indeed melt his face downwards, and from this clue you can built this man's ancestry and rest of the looks, in somewhat accuracy.

The neolithisation led to the weakening of the jaw. The gonial angle correlates with the facial convexity/concavity. So a strong anteface, meaning a face that protrudes aggressivily forward in a close 90 degree angle leads to a concave facial profile, and a concave facial profile is going to show correlation with nasile concavity, because the nasal profile follows the maxilla (and the jaw). Of course we are not speaking of absolutes here, so you are going to see exceptions to the rule, as there indeed other things to consider, like the nasal bone itself.
Also as the gonial angle grows, so does the length of his face. So this is really the evolved man, less square shapes, more rounded, longer, oval forms.

BTW!

The first guy in the video the OP posted is actually a Finn. Just for laughs I would rather call him 'Finno-Teutonic' ala Ripley, than Brunn.

I look more Irish than him, but in my opinion the most Irish-looking person to ever exist is Colm Meaney.
