In the 80s, Communists might have been a majority among Kurds with all major Kurdish political parties being Marxist Leninist. These parties later dropped that label and now we Communists are clearly a minority.

I do say politically I am a nationalist, but by that I mean Kurdish nationalism which is basically the idea of an independent Kurdish state (not the idea of Kurdish superiority). So I believe in Socialism in one country, which makes me a Marxist Leninist.

Socialist values have existed among Kurds since way before the birth of Karl Marx. For example, the Kurdish Mazdakite (search up Mazdak) movement is described to be the earliest Communist movement in history by some scholars. They also represented themselves with the colour red.

As for accurate figures of today's Kurdish Communists, I do not know.

No. They are supporting Kurdish cultural rights etc. but most of them against the idea of independent Kurdistan.
