Wow. I just looked him up and I didn't know he was half Italian. What region is the name Poffo commonly found in?

Looks like Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, Lombardy, and Veneto. That surprised me. Maybe Poffo was shortened from some other surname?

I loved WWF when I was a kid. A surprising number of the wrestlers I grew up watching are now dead.

Because it was good then.Wrestlers back then actually wrestled and pushed it to the edge.

Today you got fruity pebbles Cena running around in all colors of the rainbow and goat gnomes like Daniel Bryan.

It's better in some ways now, though. Back in the 80s, the weekly wrestling shows were boring by comparison because almost every match was a big star vs a nobody who we all knew would lose. And titles were only defended on PPVs.

Boy is that ever true. The heels used to scare me half to death. A lot of the guys they have wrestling now don't even look the part. I see guys at the grocery store who look more menacing.

Yeah, the bad guys were better then. They were fun to root for because the didn't change from good to bad on a weekly basis.

Right, that is what bugs me about wrestling now. I think they have to flip from good to bad a lot because the roster is static. A long time ago they had different wrestling territories and bad guys would move around a lot and challenge the good guys in each region. You had a constant stream of new villains coming in and out so it was always new and interesting.
