I believe he considers himself Mexican and claimed to be from Veracruz, but he was actually born in San Juan, PR. His father was allegedly a Spanish singer, but there is also a PR man who claims to be his real father.

He is not Puerto Rican LMAO. He was born in Puerto Rico in transit (which in a USA territory afterall) but has never identified as Rican. Matter of fact Luis has never openly talk about Puerto Rico and the fact that he was born there. The media sees him as Mexican and he has always identified as such. Also, it was in his adulthood that people found out he wasn't born in Mexico. He always hid this fact.

Alpine-Med. This thread just shows how incredibly biased this forum can be, specially for latin americans, Luis Miguel is and looks fully European, his mom was Italian and his dad was Spanish.

There's been many rumors about his father, but nothing has been proved and so far is most likely certain that Luis Rey was actually his father. The only kid who there might be doubts about his paternity is Luis Miguel's youngest brother, Sergio, who might have been a product of an abuse by a Military captain.

Also Luis Miguel is Mexican, he might be born in PR, but he moved at a very young age, and has grown up in Mexico his whole life, he claims himself as Mexican, and the whole country calls him the sun of Mexico.
